The Gilgandra Baby Health Centre reports figures from the past month. Mothers visited by Sisters and new-born babies are noted along with weighings, test meals, and advice given. Centre attendance includes infants under one year and under two years, with mothers also attending.
Mrs Varcoe misplaced a handbag containing a gold watch and spectacles during a Friday night School Ballette event. Police were notified at 10 am Saturday and recovered the missing items by 5 pm the same day. Two arrests were made and will appear at the next court. Officers McKenzie and Dickson covered about 26 miles during the investigation.
A kitchen tea in honor of Miss Nancy Voysey youngest daughter of Mr and the late Mr Voysey of Biddon was held on Friday night. She was married at Gilgandra on Saturday to Mr G Galley of Eumar gerie. The death occurred at Dubbo District Hospital of Mary Isabella Dawes aged 25 wife of Raymond Chirlet Dawes of Ashvale Balladoran. She was a daughter of H W M Planymer and Mrs Planymer, married in Dubbo three years ago. She leaves two children Swin gfant a boy and a girl. Burial followed at Dubbo cemetery in the Church of England portion after service at Holy Trinity Church conducted by Rev Canon Leavers. The funeral was well attended.
The Gilgandra Police and Citizens Beaufort Bomber Fund committee plans a £50 pigeon shoot at Myall View on a date in November. Trophies valued to £80 are pledged. The drive aims to raise £500 with a meeting held in Gilgandra to organize under National Security War Contributions Regulations.
