Wedding Bells as Carpenter and Semmler Wed in Green and White

The Rev T W Koch united Edna May Carpenter and Walter Frederick Semmler at the Bidden Church on April 27. The bride wore magnolia satin, and wore a tulle veil with orange blossom coronet. Guests included Bertha Semmler and Beryl Semmler as trainbearer. Post ceremony the couple travelled to Sydney and Queensland for their honeymoon.

George Stockings Wedding at St Stephens Gilgundra

A Friday night wedding at St Stephens Presbyterian Church Gilgundra united Miss Lorna Sophie George and Mr Herbert Stocking. The bride, fifth daughter of the late W George and Mrs George Liubha, wore cretion georgette with rose bouquet. bridesmaid Miss Edith Stockings wore pink tulle over satin. The reception followed with pink decor and a two tier cake made by Mrs A Stockings. The couple plan to live at Orange after a tour.

A large sale of the Tondeburine merino stud and Mock sheep drew about 500 buyers from New South Wales Victoria South Australia and Queensland at Tondeburine on Thursday. Madgwick Couple Marks Sixty Three Years of Marriage

Mr and Mrs James Madgwick of Lower Miller Street Gilgandra celebrated their sixty third wedding anniversary. Married at Gulgong they have lived in Gilgandra and district for sixty years. They have seven sons two daughters 52 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren. They received many congratulations on the occasion.

Wool occupied the chair at a Gilgandra Tennis Club meeting in the War Memorial Literary Institute. The Para Woolworth Club of Dubbo offered a match for May 21. teams A and B will each have eight men and eight women. An exhibition match was tentatively set for July 16 or 23. Accounts of £3 5s 1d were approved. The council was to be asked to disconnect electricity to the courts. Miss D Stockings, Miss A Convary, Miss J Fleming joined the ladies committee. Mr F E Carroll joined the gents committee.
