Death of Edward Webb after Mudgee Show accident
Edward Webb son of L M Webb of Waroon Narromine died from injuries after an accident at the Mudgee Show last Thursday. He managed A K Scott’s Mudgee property and was a noted horseman and polo player in Narromine. He married Miss Pat Binetead about 18 months ago and was known in Gilgandra, where many knew him.

Heavy Storm Disrupts Rail, Kills Poultry Near Balladoran
A severe Thursday storm drenched the Balladoran district with up to 250 points of rain washing away five chains of track between Gilgandra and Eumungerie. Over 100 fowls died at Mr Mortimer's Baladoran property, and a rail motor was dispatched from Dubbo to transfer passengers as a relief train ran from Dubbo to Sydney. Some districts further north and east escaped the downpour amid varied rainfall readings at multiple post offices.

Obituary for Mrs Laura Gertrude Hammond of Coonamble
Laura Gertrude Hammond 60 wife of Len Hammond long time NSW Tilways employee died suddenly at West Coonamble on Sunday. Born in England daughter of J Fryer she emigrated at 18 and moved to Coonamble in 1903 with her husband. She supported the poor and charitable groups and was active in the Anglican Church. Funeral at St Barnabas Church and cemetery attended by many. Survived by husband sons Leonard Alfred Gain Sidney and daughters Mrs Hatfield and Mrs Hutchinson. There are fourteen grandchildren. The Independent Order of Odd Fellows mourned her passing.

Dog Poisoner At Work Thirty Laid Out In Town
Local dog owners woke to news that a dog poisoner had struck again. About thirty dogs lay dead across Gilendra on Wednesday morning, with roughly half that number killed Tuesday. Some pets were saved, but many perished after misused bait spread in yards. A valuable sheep dog and a coursing dog were among the victims.
Sudden Death of James OConnor of Collie District
James OConnor of Collie died after a cerebral haemorrhage. He was 61, survived by a widow and eight children, with many relatives in Collie and Coonamble. After a service at St Joseph's Church Rev Father Eviston conducted graveside rites at Gilgandra cemetery. Funeral arranged by A H Ross.
