Red Cross Annual Meeting Plans For New Members
At the Red Cross local branch annual meeting held at the Memorial Institute on Saturday afternoon, Mrs. H Beveridge chaired. Mrs Varcoe reported 430 cases assisted in the last year, over the branch quota, and the meeting thanked members for their efforts. Mrs Peet was praised for longtime service. a letter of appreciation was planned. Officials elected: President Mrs Varcoe, Secretary Mrs W D White, Treasurer Miss Dalton, Vice Presidents Mrs H B Poverage and Wake. A publicity officer was named Miss Rendall. The next meeting is in three months and parcels will be distributed to the distressed at Council Chambers at 2 15 pm Saturday.
