Railway Refreshment Rooms to Cut Charges August First

The Commissioner for Railways Mr T J Hertigan announces price reductions for railway refreshment rooms country and on trains with buffet service. Breakfast in country rooms drops to 2/ in total for a three journey, and bacon and egg with tea costs 1/0. From August 1 two eggs will accompany this meal for 1/3 instead of 1/8. Light refreshments at trade with buffet reduce from 10d to 9d plus 5d for each extra item to 4d. Buffet specials such as steak and kidney pudding and sausages with re... will fall from 2/- to 1/9.

Government to waive Crown debts for soldiers on overseas service

The Grassers Association urged the State Government to waive instalments and erase interest for landholders under the Closer Settlement Act who enlist overseas.
