Gilgandra Golf Club determined its 1937 championship after 36 holes of stroke play on Sunday. A Krohn won by four strokes with a final round of 67 while H Campbell was runner-up. Handicaps produced many low nett scores with hours of keen play and a potential handicapping revision.

Association Golf concludes Gilgandra champs for 18 holes

The Gilgandra associates club championship finals over 36 holes saw Miss Keir win the A grade with 157 total and Miss Coventry take the B grade with 140. Miss Keir held a two-stroke lead from last year’s champion Miss Campbell, while Miss Coventry was two ahead of Mrs. Acker. An eclectic 18-hole event is planned for Friday July 30 with a 2 pm draw.

Dubbo Defeats Visitors In Dangar Gedye Shield Rifle Match

Warren and Gilgandra riflemen visited Dubbo on Sunday to contest the Dangar Gedye Shield. Dubbo defended the trophy with a 10-count aggregate led by F Trethowan who score 94 out of 100 as best, with Saunder, Sutton, Tompkins close behind.

Curban Rifle Club holds NRA Medal shoot at Curban Range

Twenty members shot for the NRA Medal at Curban Rifle Range. winner L Champion with 97 points from five on 105. Nalder topped ranges with a 100 yard possible and several shooters posted varied scores. Curban will host next Sunday’s Curban Cup with Champion Hughes Nalder Guthrie Rogers and others on the team.

Gilgandra Defeats Warren In One-Sided Rugby Match

A large crowd watched Gilgandra beat Warren 18 to 2 at Gilg Recreation Ground. Warren rested several Johnne Walker Cup players and some stars were leg weary from a previous clash with Dubbo. Gilgandra led 8 nil at half and extended with a second-half try and a penalty. McGillion Woods Morris and Cassidy starred for Gilgandra. Jordan Stubbs Logue and White were Warren’s best.
