Visit of the Moderator of New South Wales Presbyterians

The Right Rev W Clark Duff arrives in Gilgandra for a district visit with a social welcome in Chelmsford Hall on Saturday at 7 30 p.m. He will preach in Gulargambone at 1 00 p m and in Coonamble at 7 00 p m today. On Sunday July 14 a Men’s Meeting at 2 p m in Gilgandra will feature Duff himself and a 7 90 evening service with soloist Stuart MacIntyre.

Ex-Students Celebrate First Birthday Social in Chelmsford Hall

Glyan dra Ex-Students' Literary and Dramatic Society marked its first birthday with a party at Chelmsford Hall attended by about seventy couples. The Blue Diamatic Orchestra provided music and the young organizers managed arrangements, supper, and guest control, with a general annual meeting announced for the district school on the night of the Sth.

Three Gilgandra men to stand trial for shop break in

At Gilgandra Police Court three men Owen Fletcher Eric Henderson and George Ainsworth were committed for trial at Dubbo Quarter Sessions on July 22 for breaking into A W Wood’s shop and stealing trousers tent flys and a tent. Evidence described a timber truck arrest in Eumungerie and a possible revolver gesture during pursuit.

Gilgan branch CWA meets amid charity and resolutions

The July Gilgan dra branch meeting of the Country Women's Association chaired by Mrs E Townsend discussed sympathy for Mr Marke, reported group activity including 50 local allotments of food, and noted resolutions from the General Conference.
