Gilgandra Forms Amateur Turf Club Prospect

In Gilgandra district a meeting at Memorial Literary Institute resolved to form an Amateur Turf Club. W E Barwick named acting president, A Mudie acting secretary, and a three week canvass planned to gauge support before electing officials and setting dates for a first meeting at Mendooran in April.

QUESTION TIME AT SHIRE COUNCIL MEETING

Last week the Shire Council discussed water leakage findings with the Engineer noting no leakage. Costs for pumping declined to £22 last month from £40 prior, with metre reading discrepancies cited. Gilgandra Baths Garner Prais from State Health Inspector

Mr. 5 R. Stoney of the Sydney Board of Health visited Gilgandra last week for a pool inspection. He said the Gilgandra Baths compared favourably with any in the state outside the metropolitan area, singling out three pools in Dubbo Tamworth and Gilgandra. He noted slight discolouration of the water but asserted the crystal clearance of Gilgandra’s pool rivals metropolitan standards. Visitors echoed the positive appraisal of the local baths.

Impounding Officer Debate Delayed At Council Meeting
