A rifles practice session at Gilfundes fire Mugge on Sunday drew robust participation. Competitors faced 300 yard stages with level shots and two fighters allowed ahead. The last single score stood at 34 by C Horwood and F Button, while the best aggregate went to W W P Button with 07 out of 10.
A balcony collapse in Dubbo last Wednesday afternoon caused the death of 80 year old Florence Lillian May Meeth of West Dubbo. She survived by husband and five children Raymond, Dora, Oscar, Evelyn, and Eunice. Funeral held at Dublin cemetery Church of England section attended by many.
The Curban Rifle Club held a practice shoot in poor conditions with limited registrations. M Mackay led with 86 at 600 yards and 48 at 600 yards, totaling 134 points. several shooters achieved notable scores despite wind and rain. Nearby, officer changes include Inspector Woods retiring after extended leave and A W Chasebit named acting superintendent.
The Gilgendre Tennis Club hosts a mixed doubles handicap tournament Sunday with about thirty couples. Play starts 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. at Town Court and Alderton Courts. entrants listed with pairings and handicaps, divisions outlined and entries still open.
The Unum Tennis League held its annual meeting on Wednesday with officers named including President Mews NeW Strahorn, Secretary A C Richards, and Treasurer Bell. Plans were set for a spring tournament on Friday and Saturday the 10th and 11th of July with a dance on the following Saturday night.
The case concerns Constable paying Taylor's costs after a Conviction under Section 802 of the Crimes Act. The judge assailed the constable for costs while noting Taylor’s possession of a flock including a ram and various sheep. The trial examined ownership and possession of the sheep from the mob, with testimony from Cottrell and Taylor regarding killing and branding and a constable seizing a sheep. A Monday evening wedding in Gilgandra joined Irene Adelards of the Ney family and Clauge Milton of the McLeod family.
