The April meeting of Gilgandra District Hospital Board, held in the Memorial Institute, discussed warder appointments, a £1 1s 1d subscription, new vacancies, and a £100 advance. Resignations, subsidies, and committee rules were debated, with gratitude noted to the secretary. Matron Nelson reported March activity and fees. the treasurer detailed balances, donations, and upcoming bills.

Secretary reported that the Hilside branch of the Country Wo Association planned a dance to aid the hospital. He was told to contact district associations requesting cash or in kind support and to notify them they may hold hospital aid events if desired.
Gilgandra branch of the Country Women’s Association held a meeting in the Memorial Institute with President Mrs Mookey presiding. Attendees included several named members and Miss Witney, Higinbtham, and Treyiz as secretary. A donation thank you note from the District Hospital secretary was read and material for pyjamas was approved for purchase and sewing by members. A Younger Set reform was proposed, with a meeting planned for April 28 at 3 p.m. Miss Rendell reported on the General Conference and 40 new members enrolled.
Gilgandra’s upcoming football season looks promising with a sizeable squad and improving form. In a Sunday trial, the Seniors beat the Rovers 17 to 6 as Andrews and Paul starred in forward and center roles, with McKechnie, Whitton, Ryan, and Madgwich among others showing early class. the Rovers’ defenders were stretched but solid, while overall the home side demonstrated depth for the new campaign.
Sunday's match schedule shows Gilgandra Club unable to arrange a 4s game with an outside centre so a return match will be played against the Rovers. Team: D Whitton Full back. Mr Wm Proctor brother of J Proctor of Glgandra has been an inmate of Burisde Private Hospital Cornabarabran. He has recovered sufficiently to return to his home at Baradine and many friends in the district are pleased by his recovery.
The Cendobolin Land Board finalised the Mal rose Plains reappraisal cases, cutting Crown asking values from 16s to 9s per acre down to 6s 11d and 4s 11d. The decision, a forty five percent reduction, will influence other cases under the new Reappraisement Act and help settlers gauge likely reductions.
The United Country Movement Women's Auxiliary held a meeting at the Memorial Institute with President Mrs H Beveridge presiding. Members discussed a fundraising event on April 28 and forming a bank account for the group with funds allocated to local secretary, Dubbo headquarters, and a state trust.
