A collage of court verdicts and legal actions, strikes, and political notes spans multiple regions. It mentions executions and appeals in Australia and Britain, labor disputes, a volcanic quake update, and aviation and naval topics.
A Geraldton gathering in the mayoral parlor greeted Premier P. Collier and his ministers. Speakers urged rail and mine developments, harbor improvements, and closer settlement to reduce the state deficit and boost regional prosperity. Local figures voiced hope for infrastructure like the Yuna and Avon railways, the Surprise Mine, and better town facilities.
The Premier spoke on mining expansion in the Western Australia district, noting the Cabinet representation and the need to develop the mining belt. He outlined state finances, debt levels, and borrowing, plus policies for closer land settlement and overseas migration while aiming to boost Geraldton’s prospects. The toast to the Mayor followed, and a large British Empire cancer campaign fundraiser was announced with subscriptions and a £20,000 anonymous donation.
