The annual meeting at the Council Chambers with Geo. Lester presiding reviewed the balance sheet December 1 1913 to November 30 1914 showing receipts 1419 pounds 0 shillings 0 pence and expenditure 2250 pounds 1s 11d leaving a debit balance of 851 pounds 6s 4d with assets 3348 pounds 0s 10d enough to cover liabilities. Committees discussed new accounting rules and plans to build a stand and ring costing about 200 pounds and 270 pounds respectively to make the grounds self supporting for sports including trotting cricket and football. The committee proposed raising at least 500 pounds and authorized circular appeals for subscriptions. The Belgian Relief Fund appeal received a note urging farmers to donate a portion of their crop profits to aid war relief.
