A youth faced charges under the Fire Brigades Act after interference with a fire alarm on May 20. The court heard several youths, including the defendant, were seen near the fire station that night and that a false alarm rang at 10 20 pm. The magistrate reprimanded him yet exonerated others and ordered the defendant to pay costs as the brigade had to respond. The local brigade chief praised police, noting the risk and effort involved.
