Defence League Activities of Geraldton Sub Branch

King George Battleship to Be Launched in Britain
London February 21 The King and Queen begin a three day visit to the northeast. A new 25000 ton battleship the King George will be launched at Walkeron-Trne by Lord & Co. Limited. The ship displaces 28,000 tons with ten 14 inch guns in three turrets and six 12 pounder guns in eight turrets. Speed unofficially said to be thirty knots. It will carry aircraft in hangars launched from a catapult with a crew of 1500. Five ships of this class have been built before.
