The Mines Department return shows January gold output at 755 fine ounces, valued at about £4 5s per ounce, totaling £194,156. The month’s production exceeded December by 1 717 ounces, with figures expressed in fine ounces and monetary value.
Weekly report from the Murchison district shows varied battery outputs for the week ending Friday last. Figures include weights and tonnage in pounds and dwts, across multiple batteries with quantities like 1425, 12 tons, 7 ox 5 dwt and other metal measures.
