Perth reports an agreement between railway unions and the commissioner after arbitration extended the working week from 44 to 48 hours and trimmed district allowances. The deal preserves the 44 hour principle if unions forgo five percent of their pay. President Dwyer hinted the pits might seek another settlement before finalizing.
Canberra reports show Mr. Fenton announcing a halfpenny export duty per sheepskin wool to aid the fellmongering sector.
