Crown Lands Rules for Land Grants and Conditions

The Crown outlines eligibility for land: males over 18 or female heads of families not owning more than 100 acres may select 10 to 160 acres. A £1 deposit is required, possession and residence must occur, with five years of residency, home building or equivalent improvements, fencing, and productive planting within set timelines. Smaller blocks for gardens or orchards require deposits and staged payments, with fencing and cultivation milestones across 3 to 7 years. Larger lots priced at £1 per acre with deposits and quarterly payments, plus substantial fencing and improvements before completion.
