Advances may be made under section 38 for ringbarking clearing fening draining or water courses and for discharging existing mortgage on holdings. Limits include up to £900 for improvements on larger holdings and up to £200 or half the value of proposed improvements with no single borrower exceeding £500 unless borrowing jointly. Applications must use Bank forms with details, in amounts from £25 up to £500 multiples, with 1 percent valuation fee and statutory registration charges.
