Investiture at Madras Bath Order for Sir John Lindsay
An account from the London Gazette describes the March 11 1771 Durbar at Madras where Sir John Lindsay was invested with the Order of the Bath by Nabob Waulaujah. The ceremony featured a grand procession, royal salutes, gifts including a gold brocade dress and ring, and readings of the King’s letter in Persian.
