Proclamation Decrees National Day of Humiliation 1776

London Gazette reports King George III commands a public day of prayer and humiliation across England Wales and Berwick on December 13 1776 and calls for prayers to avert divine wrath over colonial rebellion in North America. Archbishop and bishops ordered to prepare suitable prayers for churches and public worship. Scotland also marked for December 12 proclamation.
