Proclamation Orders Restrictions on Armament Transport

Reward offered for recovery of missing bank notes and goods

An advertisement from Newcastle North describes two boxes found with silver clasps and damaged contents. A reward of five guineas is offered to anyone giving information leading to the recovery of the goods and identifying the thieves. It lists specific bank notes dated April 1776 and directs delivery of information to Mr Fretwell, Stock-Broker, London.
