Patriot Rage Against Rebels and English Complicity

Postscript letter denounces American colonists as traitors and demands Britain apply force to enforce taxation. It argues English blood and treasure support colonial lands, urges equal yoke, and condemns American defiance as desertion of mother country. The writer attacks Parliament, ministers, and republican liberties as threats to Britain and cites Roman and Prussian precedents to justify punitive measures.

Imperial Counselor of State Appointed for Court

The message states that Mr Rogerson, a Scotchman, is appointed to succeed Mr Schillizig as Counsellor of State and Physician to the Court with the same titles and a salary of 400 roubles. It notes actions regarding the Dey of Algiers planning to besiege Gran and Morocco’s King likely supporting the Bey. Portuguese colonial preparations in South America are active and court measures to arm colonies suggest reports of an accommodation with another power may be unfounded.

Questioning of a witness before the committee adjourns

A witness was called to answer but refused until advised by Sir George Yonge to withdraw. A motion to custody was overruled, a previous question ordered, and the witness recalled. He acknowledged trips to Bath and money reaching Shaftesbury, then to his father’s house and on to the Red Hen. The probing questions were challenged as evidence not admissible, the House cleared after debate and adjourned.
