British transit and tariff edict shields English trade abroad

Berlin 1774 edict clarifies transit duties for English goods passing through German territories and Poland. It exempts English shipments from Elbe land taxes, reduces transit to 4 percent via Breslaw, preserves Saxony rules, and grants broad exemptions for Westphalia provinces while safeguarding tobacco terms for English contractors. Also states English ships to be treated as friendly traders with no extra port charges.
