Repairs Ordered for Several Bridges at Chartchurch Parish
At the General Quarter Sessions held at Winchester Castle on April 12 1748 it was decided that Stony Lane Bridge Richmond Bridge Great Bridge Little Bridge Ivre Great Bridge and Ivre Little Bridge and the local causeways in Chartchurch parish are decayed and require repair. Justices will meet at Redbridge on August 9 to hear estimates and proposals from contractors who wish to bid for the work.

Court Martial Acquits Tymewell of Murder at Zealand Duel
The Katherine Yacht at Deptford hosts a court martial for George Tymewell, late secretary to Commodore Mitchell, charged with murdering Capt. Thomas Gregory. After examining fifteen witnesses, Tymewell is acquitted of murder but convicted of a misdemeanor for disobeying orders. He is sentenced to two years in the Marshalsea and banished from service.
