Venice Packet Driven Ashore Near Malamocco

A storm drove the Venice Packet Captain John Levitt ashore near Malamocco with stockfish onboard. The crew were saved with great difficulty, but the ship and much of the cargo are feared lost. Underwriters and cargo owners are asked to provide vouchers to Consul John Udny. Copenhagen reports a Danish army reform with appointments to command and regiments.

Great Earthquake and Storm Ravage Dahibo Bridge Area

From Wennertburgh reports detail a violent storm followed by an earthquake. The Dahibo stone bridge was blown up, the sea rose 36 feet, and sluices burst.
