Five Negroes Found Guilty in Murder Trial
On Wednesday last five men named Dick Frank Peter Anthony and Tom were tried at Halfway Creek Court-house for the murder of Edward Seymour. The principal perpetrators Dick Anthony and Frank received sentences including gibbeting burnt alive and hanging with head placed on a pole. Peter and Tom were sentenced to transportation.
