A London Gazette notice dated January 13 1790 announces Major General Thomas Stirling assigned as Cornel of the 41st Regiment of Foot in Ireland, succeeding Major General McNab who is deceased.
Ships listed remain in the Downs as before with Daphne Miller Fairchild Elizabeth Stamper bound for Grenada and New York. In Gravesend Unity Boody from Stettin Stewart from Newry Peggy Milroy from Belfast Branch Leonard from Maryland passages noted along with several other vessels.
Parisian intelligence reports the Royal visit to Kew and Buckingham, court audiences at Carleton House, and the King’s address to the National Assembly. It notes a bread price cut, shipping movements, and various European dispatches, with obituaries and social notices following.
Curtiss, Societies, and the Public in general urged to buy tickets at Mr Nichollson's State Lottery Office in Bank Street Cornhill London. The draw begins on the 22nd of the month with full prize payment on demand and stamps proving legal shares. Prizes include 1 zol for zol prize 25,000l for 23,000l and others, with shares priced 10 pounds for half 20 prize 1 pound 1s 0d for eighth and 11 pounds 5s for sixteenth and similar rates for large prizes.
On Tuesday February 9 the Lord Chancellor attended prayers by the Bishop of Gloucester.
