Speaker Holds Chair as Debates Open in Commons
The House of Commons met on Tuesday with the Speaker in the chair at two o clock. After routine business Sir Charles Worth from the Committee of Supply reported two resolutions from Monday and both were agreed to without opposition amid expectations of debate. Mr Rose Fellow moved to read the May 1774 resolution noting that long distances and great costs deter freeholders from voting in county elections. He cited his own county eighty miles distant and others over extreme ranges, urging leave to proceed under the May resolution, which the House granted.
