Foreign Affairs Dispatches Reach Courts Over Pondicherry War
The British and French ambassadors send couriers from Constantinople and the East Indies news to their courts about the Pondicherry expedition. French ships unloads near Marseilles amid fears of English privateers. Reports from Petersburgh note preparations to sail by month’s end and mass troop movements to the Low Countries. Cardinal Albani's dispatch to Vienna relays orders to pay arrears to softcore and soldiers as troops march toward Tuscany. Liege and Maestricht advisories anticipate French actions in Limburg with Austrian defense needs and heavy local taxation.
