King of Sweden sails then lands near Hango-Udd fort

In a London Gazette snippet dated March 30, 1790, the Swedish king embarked on the Amadis yacht on the 26th but landed after a favorable wind delay. Four frigates guard coastwise vessels while Baron de Cederstrom targets Hango-Udd and Roderwick. A 4000 ruble ransom is noted for the town, with fires destroying warehouses and uniforms.

Dissolution postponed as Parliament session nears end

London reports indicate the plan to dissolve Parliament will be delayed until after the current session, with autumn dissolution likely. General Van der Merfth showed notable restraint in Namur where Schoenfeldt and Van der Mersch confronted troops, a peaceable march followed. Several patriots are in custody including Count de Rosiere and Count de la Mark. A hostile hand bill circulated, raising concerns among Dutch patriots, who seek protection as exodus begins. Leopold’s manifesto hints at a ten day delay for Camel’s deliberation and possible invasion. A Vander pees letter condemns accusations of crimes. The London Quarter Session failed to form a court due to Aldermen absence.

Resolution praising Filmer Honywood by Kent Freeholders

A meeting at the King’s Head Tavern in Southwark on April 7 1799 convened by Independent Freebolders of Kent passed unanimous resolutions thanking Filmer Honywood Esq for his independent conduct in Parliament and pledging support at the next general election The meeting also praised Alderman Sawbridge for his chairing and ordered the resolutions published in the London and Kentish papers.
