London Lord Mayor Leads Protest to St James's Against American Measures

Yesterday the Lord Mayor with Sheriffs and Aldermen delivered to King George III a petition opposing ministers' policies toward America. The address decries taxation without representation, subordination in commerce, and the loss of liberties, urging dismissal of ministers and redress of grievances to restore peace and security. The procession to St James's drew thousands as the Crown replied with firm support for Parliament’s measures.
