Fragmentary OCR text lists names and numbers with scattered phrases like rare value in E and various personal names. No coherent event or clear entities emerge to describe a concrete news item or outcome.
A fragmented item mentions vendors and items like soap and flour with references to prices and products. The legible bits reference bread, meat, and regional vendors, hinting at a small-town commerce scene. The text lacks clear names, dates, or a coherent event to date.
The Geelong Advertiser reports heated debate over old age pensions in the Commonwealth. Critics challenge the Royal Commission on Old Age Pensions and the projected costs, noting New South Wales influence and the Commission’s estimates.
The report analyzes the Commonwealth invalid pension bill and its heavy cost across states Victoria, New South Wales, and South Australia. It notes projected annual spending around £1,750,000 with rough allocations of about £540,000 to Victoria and New South Wales each and about £510,000 to New South Wales. It cites Mr. Deakin's plan and Kearney’s dissent, warning of higher taxes to fund pensions while arguing for or against state contributions and administration costs.
The excerpt describes a lively gathering at Cogick Church hall where the HolE-juwels and the Guild of Shakespeare Society members discuss papers on Shakespearean topics. Reports mention a talk by Miss Ohrwels and debates on errors in Shakespeare studies, with references to local civic events and library notices.
A garbled page fragment lists playful jumbles about junior football, winter scenes, and community figures. It hints at a weekend event with illustrations, a celebration day, and mentions local names and groups in a rough, collage style.
