Cottesloe Notes Show Local Finances and New Sports Facilities
Local notes report declining municipal finances with a weak bank balance and a reef of concerns over cash flow. Officials announce a conference with Peppermint Grove and Suburbs to press for a better post office, while the new Cottesloe Oval is officially opened with May Holman presiding. The tennis courts, funded by council, cost about £700, and the grounds include excavated slime and sand for a better view. The Cottesloe Parents and Citizens Association reports a £104 bank balance from recent events and seeks improved outdoor facilities, with a promised cricket pitch and tennis courts on Railway Reserve and school grounds. Evening program includes songs by the school choir and refreshments.
