Fremantle cycling club gears for a ten mile race, a third attempt this season at the distance. France topped last event with 25min distance time but improvements expected as riders are in better shape. Handicap list features many riders including France, Cort, Baker, Prowse, and Smith with varying minute allowances. A final sprint at the Newmarket Hotel is anticipated unless a dark horse breaks through the field.
On Saturday at 700 yards the Ross trophy competition continued for the Rocky Bay Rifle title. Ernie Young earned another win, while Bob Adam led the scoring. Members are reminded the half yearly meeting will be held Saturday evening at Mr Prendiville’s North Fremantle with full attendance requested.
