The town witnesses days of obsessive dancing labeled as a record attempt. Critics call it imprudent and urge authorities to require brain or health checks. Local girls participate, casting doubt on community standards and safety concerns.
The W A Enterprises Ltd sought a deputation to seek compensation for oval expenditures but the council refused, deeming no good purpose. Fremantle faced a cold night of poor luck for the Motor drome Day with a free night clashing with practice, causing many patrons to miss the main Friday show.
At a Town Hall meeting the St John’s Ambulance Committee resolved to disband and re form as the Fremantle centre to be approved by Perth. A new committee was named with Captain Airey as patron and J Cooke as chairman. Funds were tight and the ambulance van purchase would be paid for.
A town hall meeting of Business Men Chamber of Commerce municipal leaders and local MPs discussed ways to relieve unemployment. They urged government subsidy for early works including tram track laying and rail projects, aiming to fund half the costs to kickstart relief efforts and curb inbound job seekers.
The Hydrodrome roof requires repairs. Council has bids for a 7 treatment to grant five years of immunity, a cheaper option at £50 per year by patching, or a re roofing costing around £500. Committee to decide. meanwhile Pat at an observatory amused by a shooting star while a professor examined the sky.
The council weighs a cheaper bitumen coating for weary suburbs to cut annual road costs. If successful, all roads could be treated before next summer, saving thousands in rates. Examples show current methods costing far more per square yard than the proposed Fowler machine top dress.

Fremantle Business Men's Association will hold its annual general meeting on Friday at 8 p.m. sharp. The venue is 33 Henry Street Fremantle. The agenda includes receipt of the balance sheet for 1926 29 and the secretary's report, with election of officers and any other business. All members are urged to attend.
Mr J Purser is somewhat invalid due to a leg injury. Mr and Mrs Randall of Bedford Street, East Fremantle, plan to move to Sydney after selling their bootmaking business and home in South Terrace. K G Nile, former Commissioner of Scouts, will visit Fremantle for the weekend. Sergeant Cassidy leaves Fremantle after fifteen years, to take a higher post in Geraldton, leaving a friendly impression on locals.
Council moves to improve the South Beach foreshore between the Hydrodrome and seawall after Public Works removed a railway line leaving the surface rough. Town Hall extensions plans by Allen and Nicholas reviewed with minor alterations. Tenders soon, to aid unemployment relief. Station Approach improvements led by E H Gray and J B Sleeman with optimism of success.
