The Freshwater Bay Model Yacht Club held its opening race on Saturday November 28. Atalanta won by four minutes ahead of May with Westana 40 seconds behind, and Shadow three minutes back. The race counted toward the Jones Cup with future races planned and points led by Atalanta eight, May six, Westana four, Shadow two. Two top boats Cairo and Olympic could not start.
