Local shop offers upholstery and picture framing services along with stone work of all kinds. They supply furniture, carpets, linoleums, curtain stretchers, carpet sweepers, screen doors and windows to meet reader needs.
Advertisement highlights refrigerators and stoves alongside pianos and organs and chamber sets. Promotes newest designs and wall paper patterns as the town’s sweetest offerings.
The piece recounts Macleod’s transformation from a prairie outpost in 1874 to a thriving Southern Alberta city. It highlights the North West Mounted Police march led by Col. Macleod, the fort, early stores and the Macleod Gazette, and notes relocation of the town to a safer site in 1883 84 with rapid growth into industry and trade as the Old Man river settlement prospers.
The Free Press office Winnipeg received a meat sample of wheat sent by A. F. Grady of Macleod Alberta. The plant stands over fifty inches high with six inch long heads containing sixty six to seventy kernels. Grady showcases the advantages of Macleod and district to the world.

A 2:50 am blaze at the Ugland flour mill in Claresholm, driven by southeast wind, gutted the building and left the town in darkness. Firefighters saved adjacent structures but the mill was a total loss. Estimated damage around 20000 dollars with 11090 dollars insured. Claresholm lies 26 miles north of Macleod and plans a new mill.
