Meagher & Co Employees Enjoy Annual Picnic and Ball
Meagher & Co held its annual outing at Forbes Showground with about 250 in attendance. The event featured a ball at Town Hall, a well organized programme, and a shield contest finishing in a dead heat between Forbes and Barmedman on 44 points each.

At Wyalong and Temora venues a shield competition featured men's and ladies 100 and 50 yard races, 220 yard events, high jump and throwing contests. Notable participants included Temora and Wyalong clubs with performers such as Miss Gavin, Miss Bathgate, Miss Coverdale, Miss Shanahan, and Mr. Barrett among others. Prizes and awards were presented by Mrs. Paul Meagher and local sponsors for decorative stages.

Alderman Gray of Cowra sold Greenathorpe farm to W J Edmunds with delivery Feb 1. Gray bought Coogee block for about £13,000. Vince Brien began actions on Stew Coward’s Mock at Riverslea with ten thousand station sheep to be run. Riverslea looks better grazing-wise despite less rain than Cowra.
