Land Settlement Proposals For Returned Soldiers
Mr. Tully described several conferences between State and Commonwealth officials on land settlement for returned soldiers. He outlined a three avenue plan including direct Crown land parcels with farm development, a group settlement method with a landowner, and joint ventures where servicemen pool resources to buy farms, all backed by favorable terms and rent relief. He warned against ordinary Crown land and urged parliamentary action, including possible referendum, to implement a comprehensive closer settlement program.
