The Lachlan River authority warns landholders that Jemalong Weir pool level will be lowered for seven days starting May 14. Upstream river levels and Jemalong Creek inflows will fall, so stock protection precautions are advised by District Engineer Ranga Jones of the Porches office.
Friday’s Jemalong Shire meeting noted a total amount of 11440-18/5 for rates and charges. Arrears were 314/1/9 with 2298/14/10 still outstanding as the Advocate attendance was recorded.
A joint stock sale conducted by Division Mort & Co Lidine Wied Forbes and H A Barnes drew strong attendance from Young Grenfell Forbes and nearby areas. Friends and business associates in Porches hosted a Thursday farewell for Mr J C Keane on his departure after over two years in the town. Speakers praised his civic service as alderman and hospital/association roles as they extended best wishes to him and his family.
