Returned Soldier's Death In Australian Inquiry
An inquiry at Forbes Court House examined the death of Charles Andrew Blaine a returned soldier. Witnesses including Blaine's friends drivers Melhuish and Williams described a Friday trip to Forbes with Blaine drinking heavily and a confrontation with Melhuish in Corrinella that ended with a blow from a stick. Post mortem revealed a fractured skull with brain hemorrhage likely caused by the blow though kidney disease may have worsened outcomes. The inquiry adjourned for further sister attendance.
