Banks Granted Noon Closures for Pace Meeting
Under section 22 of the Banks and Bank Holiday Act 1912 permission is given by the Colonial Treasurer for local banks to close at noon on Wednesday and Thursday May 9 and 10. The occasion is the Pace Meeting in aid of the Forbey Comforts Fund USA and Prisoners of War Fund. Banks affected include Bank of New South Wales, Commercial Bank of Australia Ltd, Commercial Banking Co of Sydney Ltd, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Rural Bank of New South Wales, Austral Bank of Australia Ltd.
