A bulletin from the South Australian Department of Agriculture describes a new methods for destroying rabbits on Eyre Peninsula. The procedure uses a knapsack burner with diesel fuel and tobacco tins of sulfur or powdered sheep dip to fill warrens, with two to three minutes needed to emit fumes from all holes. The method is said to be highly effective despite strong odors and is reportedly superior due to arsenic content in sheep dip. The knapsack burner costs about £14 10s, with a cheaper variant around £2 10s for water spraying use.
