After this date all persons found Treepasing or Wandary holding will be prosecuted without respect of persons. Persons removing horses or other stock without authority will be prosecuted with the utmost vigor of the law.
Harvest Festival activities occurred Sunday to Tuesday March 5 to 7 at the Salvation Army Hall on Rankin Street. Officers led services and programs with singing, mandolin solos, and a display of produce. A large crowd attended as stalls offered produce, ice cream, jams, and crafts while participants thanked supporters and volunteers.
The Forbes subgroup of Ue UC Movement held its annual meeting in the Council Chambers. Addresses by Messrs. J Body and H O Elliott discussed organisation and political matters. Officers elected included Sub-group Leader R Mellon and treasurer A Sharpe with a governing committee listed. Elliott noted Mr BL Body’s wide organisational work in the West, accompanied by HL K Beott.
At a district meeting speakers attacked the Forbes Pest Board criticizing lax supervision of rabbit control. They urged transferring reserve lands from the boards to other bodies or the people, citing infested lands, fence neglect, and limited government action. The discussion covered board finances, duties, and possible new controlling authorities.
A tiny red bull calf born last Monday at Mésera, H. and A. Gray’s Gum Swamp farm is perhaps the smallest calf on record. Standing about 16 inches high, the calf is able to move about and fed from a bucket, though it would need lifting to the udder.
Weather records show a sharp rise this week with March temperatures climbing. Last Sunday marked the warmest day of the month at 45 degrees, while Monday reached 80, Tuesday 113, and yesterday 627.
At a special meeting at Flannery's Hotel Forbes Golf Club members voted not to reduce annual fees citing heavy liabilities. The motion to cut member and associate fees failed as budgets showed insufficient income to cover expenses, with proposed new rates for country meetings and beginners discussed.

At the first meeting of the year held on the 4th Inst the annual Arts and Crafts Exhibition was slated for May 12 and 12 The group hopes for a larger display than previous years and plans a April serial and dance in the Beat Room to fund initial expenses organized by the CWA and Younger Bet both aiming to boost the event attendance and support.
The Tiway club offers four trophies valued at 10/6 for the first member and associate, plus the first visiting member and associate. Tiway also asks associates to provide afternoon tea on opening day. Committee meetings were set for the draft Friday to every month.
