Wirrinya Welcomes Home Returned Servicemen After War Fund Drive
Wirrinya residents hosted a large welcome home for 39 of 44 local war volunteers who attended, with 450 to 500 people present. Forbes officials including Mayor Ald. Gunn and Deputy Mayor Ald F. P. Conridge attended, as did the Returned Soldiers League and local committees. The event featured a six-man band, a guard of honor by children, speeches by local leaders, and a pledge of ongoing support for veterans and the Forbes Services Memorial Ob.
