Possum Raid Leads to Multiple Opossum Seizures and Charges
In Cudal district last Friday night about 474 opossum shins were seized. At Cudal Police Court on Saturday morning Thomas Hagerty and Alexander Campbell of Towong faced charges related to possum remains. Ernest Ryan of Cudal charged with possession of opossum parts. Fromill Hilton Sands and Lessit Douglas Bonds charged with possession of opossum pelts. All five remanded to June 8 with bail set in £100. Parkes men Edward Curry William Tani Leonard Bether and Abraham Hetherington appeared on similar charges tied to protected drimads. A magistrate ordered a reeuse until June, with sensational evidence expected.
