After Sixteen Years Balcombe Seeks Parkes Show Exit
After sixteen years Balcombe who has acted as ring master for horses at the Parkes show expresses a wish to be relieved this year. The request met coolly at the Parkes PA H Association meeting and was left to the secretary to arrange. If Balcombe stands by his decision he will be a loss as his courtesy and attention greatly aided the smooth running of the programme.

State Highway 17 and Main Roads Nos 3 and 17 were proclaimed. Forbes Parkes Road to be state managed from July 1, with works funded under the council programme.
