At a Forbes Council meeting Health Inspector J Press reported about 580 Forbes homes flooded with other premises affected. He warned against moving only better houses to higher ground without addressing housing for those in substandard homes and urged a comprehensive solution.

A fire yesterday morning at Bandon Street council electricity depot damaged plant and building. Nine or ten consumer motors used to dry out after floods were destroyed.
