Sergeant Arentz of Forbes police reported during the federal election day gathering at the Albion Hotel several men were on licensed premises during prohibited hours. Names listed include Joseph Williams George Henderson Thomas Newell Alexander Kolger Reginald Kelly and John Ryan. fines ranged from £1 to £2 8s with costs. Licensee William Preabahrn faced £6 with costs for allowing the men. a second charge of drunkenness was adjourned to January.
Two cars collided near the corner of Bandon and Flint Streets last Sunday causing minor damage and no injuries. Ronald F. Miles was brought before Forbes Police Court for turning into Flint Street wrong side. The magistrate Mr. Arnold ruled Miles should have kept left and fined him £3 with costs.
About 2 p m on Friday a second fire in eight days burned 18 to 20 acres of standing wheat at Mr Woolfs Copper Ridge farm. The outbreak, blamed on the tractor hauling harvest machinery, spread quickly across a grass paddock, destroying the crop returning five to nine dollars per acre. Two women reportedly acted heroically to save the house.

A Forbes Police Court heard Alec J. Wilson explain why he sped to catch a cyclist on Court and Sheriff streets. The magistrate found the act unsafe. a fine of six pounds eight shillings was imposed as the public safety concern was stressed.
Norman Leslie Towler faced Orange Court charged with obtaining 15 pounds from Peter Rafferty by false pretences. Police found a Commercial Bank of Sydney Canowindra cheque book and Bank of NSW Canowindra cheque forms on Towler, with several used. He was remanded to Moree.
Milford Howell faced the Forbes Police Court charged with stealing a horse a sulky and harness from William Spittles. The magistrate granted a dismissal after evidence suggested no intent to steal as Spittles had entrusted the items to Howell who kept them while his own horse was crippled.
