The Forbes Council, at a Tuesday night meeting, decided not to cut the administrative staff under the Salaries Reduction Act. They also reverted the previously planned 24 hour week back to 44 hours with pay for 48 hours, amid debate on wage cuts and efficiency.
At a Forbes Council special meeting Town Clerk Mr Dempsey reported an asserted account for oil and fuel from December 22, 1927 to January 24, 1928. The dispute centers on charges to Leplastrier & Co Pty Ltd and alleged allowances, with statements from Mr Armstrong and discussions with a liquidator about lubrication and plant runs.
